Open call for submissions: EPACA John Houston Essay Contest 2026

We are delighted to invite young public affairs professionals from EPACA’s member consultancies, to participate in the 15th John Houston Essay Contest. This is an annual tradition that EPACA organises with the aim of promoting and celebrating young talent by recognising original thought and strong writing skills.

For this year’s contest we welcome participants to share their views on the following question:

“How would the accession of Ukraine in the EU change EU Public Affairs dynamics?”

Interested in submitting your essay? Here is what you should know:

  • Eligibility: All public affairs professionals who are under the age of 30 and who work for one of EPACA’s member companies are eligible to submit their essay.
  • Format and Length: The essay must be a maximum of 300 words (excluding title), written in English.
  • Deadline: Send your submission by end of day on 03 April 2026 to info@epaca.org.
  • Prize: The winner of the contest receives a training scholarship of €3000 and will be published in the EPACA newsletter, website and LinkedIn page.
  • Jury: Representatives of the EPACA partners and Board

We encourage multiple participations per company, and would be delighted if a wide majority of our members chose to participate.

The winner of the John Houston Essay Contest will be announced during EPACA’s Annual General Meeting on 23 April 2026.
